We present to you a few of our favorite things, in hopes that they might enhance your motorcycling lifestyle. The holidays are upon us, and we here at MotoQuest have rounded up a few of our favorite things to share with our readers. Whether you’re shopping for a motorcyclist, or are yourself a motorcyclist, below are a few items that would make excellent gifts this season.
Butler Maps
Don’t leave home without it! We use Butler Maps on all of our tours here in the United States because, simply put, they’re the best! These maps are made by motorcyclists, for motorcyclists. They are waterproof and tear proof and will likely last you the rest of your life. Check out all of the maps they make and order on their website in time for the holidays.

The Adventurous Motorcyclist’s Guide to Alaska
MotoQuest founder Phil Freeman knows Alaska like the back of his hand. You might say he “wrote the book on it” — in fact he did, along with the word-crafting artistry of co-author Lee Klancher of Octane Press. This comprehensive guide book offers road conditions, riding routes, restaurants, local amenities and much more in the great state of Alaska. Phil even divulges his favorite napping spots in Alaska!

Global Rescue Membership
How about this for a gift idea: peace of mind. It comes in many forms, but our favorite is a membership with Global Rescue. For anyone traveling abroad, this is a small investment that has the potential to pay off big time should you become ill, get injured or otherwise need medical evacuation to get you home. We’re such big believers that we automatically enroll every single one of our tour participants in this service.
Scorpion EXO-AT950 Adventure Helmet
Scorpion’s EXO-AT950 Adventure Helmet has proven to be an excellent choice for our MotoQuest guides out in the field. The modular design makes it easy to communicate with other riders on the fly, and the ADV-oriented features all add up to a comfortable and secure ride. If you’re in the market for a new helmet, do yourself a favor and try on a Scorpion.
SW-MOTECH Luggage Rack & DrySpec Cases
What would we do without our side cases? We’d have to leave a lot of gear behind, for one. Each bike in the MotoQuest fleet is equipped with some sort of side luggage for both our guided tour and rental customers. For ADV bikes we choose luggage racks from SW-MOTECH and side cases from DrySpec, both of which are available here in the states from our friends at Twisted Throttle. Check out their selection and get your bike ready for a road trip!
AltRider Skid Plate
If you want some of the toughest, best-engineered protection accessories available, look no further than AltRider. We equip our bikes with AltRider skid plates and crash bars because we know they’ll stand up to the beating we put our bikes through. AltRider makes crash bars and skid plates for virtually every adventure bike out there, including our new Honda Africa Twin pictured above. Visit their website for these and many more accessories for your adventure bike.
