JAPAN ALPS AND ISLANDS ADVENTURE

This is a fantastic motorcycle trip that features 11 days of riding in and around the famed Japan Alps and Mt. Fuji during peak fall foliage season. This ride features Honshu and Shikoku Islands. For MotoGP Enthusiasts, there is the opportunity to go to the qualifying day and race day at the famed Twin Ring Raceway at Motegi. If you have ever wanted to ride the Japan Alps, Mt. Fuji, and explore rugged coastline and densely forested river valleys deep in the Japan countryside to the backdrop of fall colors, this is your chance.

 

 

*This is a rider’s ride. There are longer days in the saddle and the roads feature many curves and elevation changes. Get ready to experience some of the best roads in your life!

THE ITINERARY

ARRIVAL DAY

DAY 1 - Arrival in Okayama, Transfer to Tsuyama. Stay in Stay in Tsuyama. Welcome Dinner this evening.

DAY 2 - Tsuyama - Miyazu (180+ miles riding)

We will pick some classic rural roads that wind through the mountains and an epic coastal road along the Sea of Japan. Be prepared to fall in love with the Japanese countryside. Stay near Miyazu.

DAY 3 - Miyazu - Takayama (180 miles)

We will ride toward and enter the Japanese Alps of Gifu Prefecture today. Hold on, it's going to get pretty! Stay near Takayama.

DAY 4 - Takayama - Karuizawa (170 miles)

Be ready for some more jaw dropping mountain riding as you ride from Giju Prefecture to Nagano Prefecture. We will even get a chance to ride one of Japan's prized "Romantic" roads. Stay near Karuizawa.

DAY 5 - Karuizawa - Nikko (150 miles)

Explore the the mountain roads on your way to Nikko. Ready for spectacular scenery? We will arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage Temple-rich city of Nikko. Stay in Nikko.

DAY 6 - NIkko Free Day: (up to 150 miles)

Free Day Enthusiasts: Check out the multitude of world-class Temples and Shrines in this uniquely historic city. Go riding one of the scenic mountain loops that leave out of this picturesque city in the mountains. Stay in Nikko.

Moto GP Enthusiasts:
We will ride by van to the Motegi Twin Ring raceway. We will spend the day there, watching the MotoGP qualifier and visiting the unparalleled Honda Museum - an amazing motorsports day! Stay in Stay in Nikko.

DAY 7 - NIkko Free Day: (up to 150 miles)

Free Day Enthusiasts: Check out the multitude of world-class Temples and Shrines in this uniquely historic city. Go riding one of the scenic mountain loops that leave out of this picturesque city in the mountains. Stay in Nikko.

Moto GP Enthusiasts:
We will ride by van to the Motegi Twin Ring raceway. We will spend the day there, watching the MotoGP race. Get ready for excitement! Stay in Stay in Nikko.

DAY 8 - Nikko - Mt. Fuji (170 miles)

Today will be a little urban, a little natural wonder. We will head out south on the toll highway system and pass around Tokyo on our way to Mt. Fuji. We will ride around Mt Fuji and climb to the highest accessible road on this legendary conical volcano. Stay near Mt. Fuji.

DAY 9 - Mt. Fuji - Toba (170 miles)

We will need to take the express toll road for a few miles before making our way to the Pacific Ocean coast. We will ride to the town of Irako, where we will take a short ferry to Toba. From there, we will ride along the coast to our hotel on the ocean. Get ready for some surprisingly good riding and fresh sea food. Stay near Toba.

DAY 10 - Toba - Wakayama (180+ miles)

This is a really cool day as we will be able to explore the back roads of Mie and Nara Prefectures. This area is riddled with steep river valleys, forests, mountains and temples. Stay in Wakayama.

DAY 11 - Wakayama - Shikoku Island (150 miles)

Start the day riding to the coast to catch the ferry from Wakayama on the mainland Honshu to the incredible island of Shikoku. Ride deep into the mountains and marvel at one of the most rugged regions of all Japan. Stay near Kazuribashi.

DAY 12 - Kazuribashi area - Tsuyama - Okayama (150 miles)

Leave Shikoku and cross back to the island of Honshu on the Seto Bridge - one of the world's largest suspension bridges. Finish the day riding through river canyons to Tsuyama. We will be turning in our bikes in Tsuyama and jumping on a bus, back to Okayama. Farewell Dinner tonight. Stay in Okayama.

DAY 13- Fly Home or keep the dream Alive.
