Visit bustling cities, sleepy plantations and diverse ecosystems in this South American paradise. Explore the city of Medellin, ride through the Lakes District, visit a coffee plantation, ride past snow-capped Volcanoes, and check out an underground Salt Cathedral. Colombia features extreme environments and a natural beauty unique to its climate. Experience a vibrant culture rich in history and natural resources. Experience Colombia by motorcycle (is there any other way?).
Road Conditions: This is an all paved tour with potential for optional dirt and gravel routes for those interested. Expect everything from perfectly manicured highways to narrow pot hole covered secondary routes where you'll be dodging chickens and chivas.

DAY 1 - Arrival in Cali, Colombia: Your motorcycle journey starts with your arrival in Cali by this day by mid afternoon.We will come meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. First class Welcome Dinner this evening, included in the tour package.
DAY 2 - Cali to Montenegro, Colombia: Head north out of Cali winding along the banks of the Cauca River. Todays views will be mountainous and the pavement twisty. This night is spent in a private mansion with private rooms and bathrooms. Dinner served family style. Pool, hot tub and entertainment all available. Stay in Montenegro.
DAY 3 - Free day in Montenegro area: Ride through the Coffee region with a stop and tour of a working organic coffee plantation complete with a sample of the product. Next stop Cocora Valley home to the massive Wax Palms. Or take a break from riding and relax by the infinity pool for the day! Stay in Montenegro.
DAY 4 - Montenegro area to Medellín: Continue north again chasing the beatiful Cauca River to Medellín, the second largest city in Colombia. Medellín is a beautiful city tucked in the Aburrá Valley between two Cordilleras (extensive chain of mountains). Stay in Medellín.
DAY 5 - Free day Medellín: Medellín is home to some great shopping and other day activities. Popular choices are a Cable Car tour or the Pablo Escobar tour of Medellín. Stay in Medellín.
DAY 6 - Medellín to Rio Claro: Take a very scenic route out of Medellin towards the lake district. Optional climb up the 800 stairs to the top of the El Penol (a huge monolith rock) to experience the fantastic views of the area. Continued riding in very mountainous terrain until we reach Rio Claro. Option to do small hike in the afternoon into the caves near Rio Claro.
DAY 7 - Rio Claro to Giron: We stop at the famous gate into Pablo Escobar’s old ranch for a photo opportunity. This gate displays his first drug trafficking airplane! After crossing the mighty Magdalena River we have a long ride through an oil drilling area and cattle fields. At the end of the day we once again get into the mountains and make our way up to the Colonial town of Giron.
DAY 8 - Giron to San Gil: Short but a spectacular riding day today. We bypass the huge city of Bucaramanga on the side of a mountain and enter into the incredible Chicamocha canyon. Endless switchback turns create an awesome ride climbing even further up into the high mountains. We arrive in San Gil early and for those who are interested we will do a short ride out to visit the beautiful Colonial village of Barichara in the afternoon.
DAY 9 - San Gil to Villa de Leyva: Staying in the mountains all day we once again have spectacular curvy riding ahead of us. We stop around Barbosa to try the local speciality Bocadillos (cheese and fruit paste sweet sandwiches). We make our way to Villa de Leyva, a declared National Monument founded in 1572.
DAY 10 - Villa de Leyva free day: Free Day in Villa de Leyva offers many options for activities if you do not feel like relaxing. The attractions include: a stroll in the village and visiting the largest cobblestone plaza in Latin America, a tierracota mud house, horseback or buggy ride into the desert, visiting a scenic waterfall, dining in the many great international restaurants, shopping, and more.
DAY 11 - Villa de Leyva to Honda: Back on the bikes we have a long day ahead of us. We visit the city of Zapiquira, home of the famous underground Salt Cathedral, before making our way over the mountains and descending down several thousand meters to the Colonial river port town of Honda. We end the day with a well deserved dip in the hotel pool. Bring your swim suit!
DAY 12 - Honda to Manizales: After a foot tour around town in the warmest place in Colombia we saddle up and start a new scenic ascent into the mountains. We stop for a delicious tropical fruit drink before lunch, a Colombian specialty. If the weather is clear at 4000 meters altitude crossing the summit, expect a fantastic view of the year-round snow capped volcano of Los Nevados del Ruiz. We arrive early afternoon in Manizales, a university town, with great night life and dining.
DAY 13- Manizales to Cali: The ride from Manizales back to Cali, once again takes us through the beautiful coffee region and into the Cauca Valley. We will be taking an alternate route back through the same valley. Sugar cane fields cover the fertile valley as we leave the mountains behind us and roll into Cali, for the perfect ending to our incredible adventure in Colombia.
DAY 14 - Fly Home or keep the dream alive. The next motorcycle adventure vacation awaits.
