Road Conditions
Paved mostly. Some gravel sections due to no pavement or road construction or wash outs. The paved roads are generally 1.5 lanes wide and are in good condition. Lots and lots of curves. Some of the dirt sections may have a mild stream crossing. Nothing too technical.
Lodgings
Ranges from elegant hotels to nice bungalows, to rustic settings. Be prepared to have a real adventure with no frills one of the nights. Mostly, the accommodations are nice, and in unique spots.

Monday:
Hanoi City Tour. Ride in a Ural sidecar through the hectic streets of Hanoi. Experience incredible sights and sounds of Vietnam's vibrant capital city. Stay in Hanoi. (B)
Tuesday:
Hanoi – Mai Chau 140 km
Leave the busy city for the calm countryside of Vietnam!
Stay in Mai Chau (B)
Wednesday:
Mai Chau – Nghia Lo 190 km
Take in the countryside and incredible mountains of Northern Vietnam. Stay in Nghia. (B)
Thursday:
Nghia Lo – Than Uyen 140 km
You think you have seen it all then the mountains! Enjoy dirt and paved riding through beautiful scenery. Stay in Than Uyen. (B)
Friday:
Than Uyen – Sapa 100 km
Another great day exploring the backroads of Vietnam. Stay in Sapa. (B)
Saturday:
Sapa – Sin Ho 150 km
You are riding off the beaten track in Vietam! Stay in Sin Ho. (B)
Sunday:
Sin Ho – Dien Bien Phu 150 km
Ride near the Laos border and discover mountainous scenery, challenging riding, and remote hill tribes. Stay in Dien Bien Phu. (B)
Monday:
Dien Bien Phu - Muang Khua - Nong Khiew
Today we board a bus and cross the Vietnam/Laos Border. Arrive at the trading post of Muang Khua and get on a long boat and head down the Nam Ou River. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and take in the river life for the day. Stay in Nong Khiaw. (B)
Tuesday:
Nong Khiaw - Luang Prabang 100 km
Pick up Honda XR 250s and ride to the World Heritage City of Luang Prabang. Enjoy the night market, stroll around town, or do an outride to a variety of waterfalls. Stay in Luang Prabang. (B)
Wednesday:
Stay in Luang Prabang up to 100 km
Enjoy Luang Prabang, a city enshrouded in tranquility and history. Ride out to a number of waterfalls. Enjoy a boat ride on the famous Mekong River. Catch up on internet, and cruise the night market once more. Stay in Luang Prabang. (B)
Thursday:
Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng 150 km
Ride the mountains of Laos and past scenic Limestone Karsts as you decend to Vang Vieng. Stay in Vang Vieng. (B)
Friday:
Vang Vieng - Vientiane 100 km
Ride to the capital city of Laos. Explore the city from the Banks of the Mekong River to the eclectic city market. Stay in Vientiane. (B)
Saturday:
City Tour, Vientiane
Take tour of the city and learn about its story both past and present. Enjoy an excellent farewell dinner this evening.(B) (D)
Sunday:
Fly Home

Money:
- Bring Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express.
- Bring Debit Cards or Check Cards that work at ATMs for Withdrawing Cash. This is the most efficient way of getting local CASH. Visa and PLUS System seem to be the most recognized. A MASTERCARD ATM card is also valuable.
- Always bring at least $500 AMERICAN CASH in clean bills

Riding Gear:
Plan to ride in 40f to 95f degree weather.
Plan for rain (it is statistically the dry season)
Riding in Vietnam and Laos:
- No headlights during the day unless foggy. (against the law)
- Keep to your side of the road on Corners
- Bring something to put over seat of the Honda. For your comfort!
- WATCH OUT: pigs, chickens, turkeys, cows, children, tractors, water buffaloes, on roadway!!!
Arrival day:
Send us your travel information so we know when and where to meet you. Please be prepared to show your current motorcycle drivers license.
Gear:
Bring riding gear that is warm and waterproof (a riding suit with pads is best). We recommend Olympia Moto Sports (AST Jacket Mens/Womens and Ranger 3 Pants for Men, Promax Pants for Women). Also bring: Stout water-proof boots, rain gear, a warm hat, rain-proof gloves (2 pair), hiking shoes, lots of underwear, fleece layers, full-faced helmet, swim suit, and a good camera.
