Road Conditions

Excellent pavement, great curves and open highway. We picked the itinerary to feature mountainous roads and also featuring the historic Route 66. There is always the chance there will be road construction with light dirt or gravel.

Sunday

Arrival in Long Beach

Our Long Beach, CA location is located just minutes from LGB airport. Stroll through downtown Long Beach for premiere shopping and dining or stroll the trail along the Pacific Ocean. Meet your fellow riders and guides tonight for a great Welcome Dinner.

2

Monday

Long Beach to Kernville - 211 miles

Depart Long Beach via the world famous Angeles Crest Highway, famous motorcycling road, with 60 miles of countless curves. Head through Palmdale and gain altitude again to end the day near Lake Isabella.

Death Valley National Park

Tuesday

Kernville, CA to Furnace Creek, Death Valley National Park - 215 miles

Take some surprising and twisty backroads through the Southern Sierra Mountains, and end the afternoon cruising through the hottest and driest desert in the world, Death Valley. For an add-on you can visit Badwater Basin and/or Artist Palette for sunset.   At -282 feet, Badwater Basin is the lowest elevation in North America.

Wednesday

Furnace Creek, CA to Las Vegas, NV - 258 miles.

Take a few side trips today, visit Ubehebe Crater and Scotty's Castle, just a couple of the Death Valley landmarks you'll see along the way. Learn how to pronounce Ubehebe... maybe.  Head to Sin City for a night on the town.

Thursday

Las Vegas, NV to Laughlin, AZ - 250 miles

After partying your paycheck away the night before in Las Vegas, you'll the Hoover Dam! Then visit the Grand Canyon Skywalk, and  head for the Historic Route 66, the Main Street of America.

Friday

Laughlin, AZ to 29 Palms, CA - 210 miles

Ride Route 66, as well as the Mojave Desert today before hitting the highway towards Joshua Tree. Relax by the pool and share tales from the road on this last night of the trip.

29 Palms, CA to Long Beach, CA - 285 miles

Head back to Long Beach today through Joshua Tree National Park.  Ride beautiful twisty mountain roads and the famous Ortego Highway.  Arrive in Long Beach and prepare for a  delicious departure dinner.

Discover myserious Death Valley

Tour Size:

6 - 12 riders. We have a large staff-to-guest ratio. This way your adventure is personalized and safety is maximized.

Gear:

Bring riding suit, top and bottom, with pads. Have something that is waterproof, or bring an outer waterproof layer for rainy days.

In Alaska and Long Beach we have riding gear available for rent if you do not currently own your own gear. Please call us and let us know if you will need us to reserve the jacket, pants or both for your tour.

Also bring:

Stout water-proof boots, rain gear, a warm hat, rain-proof gloves (2 pair), hiking shoes, bug spray, lots of underwear, fleece layers, full-faced helmet, swim suit, and a good camera are the things you need on the trail.
